Spun Gold: Poetic Reflections of Pure Luminosity is an inspirational collection of non-dual, mystical poetry from poetess Maren Springsteen.

Maren has such a gift of envisioning the present, the past and the future [seemingly all at once]. It’s easy to get “lost” in its splendor! The words seem to flow like an infinite stream. The two words that come to mind are love and light.

As Peter Dziuban writes in the foreword, “It may sound like a cliché, but this is not spiritual cola—it is like fine wine, and the best way to appreciate it is to savor it slowly. Don’t be in a rush, even though each line beckons you on.”

I couldn’t agree more!

To that I would like to add that reading the book in complete silence is an entirely different experience as well—try it. One’s pure essence is flowing through these words… a connection of the soul.

The book also includes two excellent articles from the heart. One being the postscript called Being is Seeing which includes some lovely pointers and many spiritual recommendations and teachings. Maren also sheds some light on where her writings are coming from. And the appendix, with detailed notes on a favorite book called “Standing As Awareness” by Greg Goode that provides a roadmap towards the integration of awakening.

Maren states: “The theme of this book is universally applicable, no matter where one lives, our intrinsic interconnectedness as fellow human beings on the surface…and even more so, distinguishing between what is ultimately real and eternal, unchanging, ever-present, fresh and (always for the first time and at the deepest core of Life), what is illusion presented by the five senses until no more separation is felt or known and or how to understand the difference and how to let go of what isn’t the substance and glue as well as substratum underlying all illusion—Pure, unconditional Love and Presence.”

Although all the writings are imaginative and of high quality, I hold One Without A Second-Radiance, Moonlight Sonata, Magnificent Splendor and The Open Heart as personal favorites.
